Wheels and Waves Festival, Biarritz France

a commission for Royal Enfield Motorcycles

We undertook studio photography of two beautiful custom show-piece motorcycles at Royal Enfield's UK R&D centre in Leicestershire before the bikes were then shipped-out to the Wheels & Waves festival in Biarritz, France. The bikes; Surfracer and Gentleman Brat were crafted by bespoke custom builders Sinroja Motorcycles, a company with an enviable reputation for creating truly unique motorcycles. Chasing them south on our own bikes, laden with cameras, lenses, flash kit, tents and one or two pairs of spare undies, was part of the adventure. Once on site we photographed a documentary of the festival including the characters, bikes and the buzz that make this iconic motorcycle and surfing event one of the best known anywhere in the world. We focused on Royal Enfield's show stand and also photographed their two custom show bikes against a backdrop of a setting sun over the Atlantic Ocean on the last evening, which signed-off the job in perfect style. A fabulous commission that showed our skills in studio product photography and documentary photography in equal measure.
